Call for entries! FIVA competition marks International Youth Day

FIVA (the Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens or international federation of historic vehicles) has opened entries to its annual creative competition for youngsters and the young-at-heart. This year, historic vehicle enthusiasts are invited to submit photographs, sketches, paintings, illustrations and videos on the theme of ‘Restoring the Passion’. “After the success of last year’s competition, we are again celebrating the United Nations International Youth Day on 12 August with a creative competition,” explains Nataša G. The Netherlands Historic cars, motorcycles, and other motorized vehicles are the best time machines one can imagine. They show the design and technique of their era, and when on the move the back-in-time experience is complete. Their preservation is sustainability in the truest sense. They survived, while nearly all peers ended long ago as waste. Treating a product with care, even when it is a popular mass-produced car or motorbike, is environment friendly because it helps to reduce the over-exploitation of our Earth.
