A motorcycle built in the political prison of Aiud, Romania

2023-05-05T11:59:08+02:00

Building a motorcycle in prison may seem impossible, but for the brilliant Romanian engineer Sorin Tulea and his two colleagues, it was a reality. Tulea, born on 11th October 1915, attended the Mircea Cantacuzino aviation school and obtained his pilot's patent in 1936. During World War II, he served on the front lines as part of the 1st Bombardment Flotilla in Brasov, specializing in twin-engine bombing. In the summer of 1941, he was among the first Romanians who responded to the Prut crossing order, even though he had only nine hours of training on the Heinkel 111 bomber at that [...]

2023-05-11T13:23:51+02:00

Brush cars were manufactured in America, by Alanson P Brush, from 1907 to 1912. They were small, lightly made, runabout cars, but incorporated many novel ideas, including: a single cylinder counter rotating internal combustion engine, beautifully made 2 speed transmission, suspension by four coil springs and friction dampers, self-energising rear brakes in both forward and reverse direction, variable ratio steering, wooden chassis rails and hickory wooden axles. They were strong, very successful, reliable and easy to drive cars. The first car to cross Australia from west to east (Perth to Sydney) in March 1912 was a Brush carrying two men [...]

2023-04-26T12:46:28+02:00

With that in mind, Alfa Romeo Clube do Brasil embarked on a collaborative project with Colégio Dante Alighieri to connect students and parents to their Italian heritage. The idea is not just to host a historic vehicle exhibition on the school grounds, but also to raise awareness of the culture intrinsic to the vehicles and what they represent. Colégio Dante Alighieri was founded in 1911 by Italian immigrants with the objective of preserving and promoting their values in student education. Storage and stabeling (Charter of Turin)

2023-04-19T17:23:15+02:00

From time to time it might be necessary to store a vehicle . The  following suggestions are done for best pratice to prevent damage during storage: 1.  The use of water instead of coolant is not recommended in the cooling system of the stored vehicle. Water corrodes the radiator and the engine block from the inside. Water in the cooling system can freeze in the event of an unexpected failure of the storage space heating system. Water also contains limescale that can settle in the  cooling system and narrow or clog the channels (radiator). Cooling fluid provides protection against frost, [...]
