Sun, sea and dream cars from every era flanked with stunning women, dressed as Bond Girls by stylist and fashion designer Croky, have been the stars of the eighth, unforgettable edition of the Concorso d’Eleganza Poltu Quatu Classic. On stage, in the evocative setting of Costa Smeralda and
Grand Hotel Poltu Quatu, a proper cinematographic show: The Octopussy Edition “Operazione Dolce Vita”.

Simone Bertolero presented the prize giving ceremony in a perfect 007 style, wearing a fabulous Larusmiani tuxedo, offering all guests and participants intense emotions like never before, supported by journalist Savina Confaloni, always at Bertolero’s side in what has now become the most glamorous happening in Costa Smeralda.
The Jury, chaired by Emmanuel Bacquet and composed of fourteen highly respected exponents of the automotive international scene, elected as Best of Show the 1953 Ferrari 340 MM, chassis 0294AM, brought to Sardinia by car collector Roberto Crippa.

This one-of-a kind, ex works Ferrari car bodied by Scaglietti, raced the 1953 Mille Miglia with Luigi  Villoresi behind the wheel and allowed Mike Hawthorn to win the Tourist Trophy in Silverstone five years before the British drive his Formula 1 World Champion title. Acquired by the current owner in 1999, this Maranello-made thoroughbred attended all the most prestigious events reserved to classic Ferraris, including the Monaco Grand Prix Historique, several editions of the Mille Miglia and Le Mans Classic, the Goodwood Revival Meeting and the Vernasca Silver Flag on its long list of
public appearances.
The same car, at Poltu Quatu Classic 2023, also won the Ferrari Art Tribute To Le Mans by Enrique Napp award: a masterpiece made by the Argentinian artist portraying the Ferrari 499P Hypercar which won the last 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Gian Luca Pellegrini, Editor-in-Chief of Quattroruote and Ruoteclassiche, member of the jury of the Concorso for the first time, defined his experience in Costa Smeralda as follows: “Poltu Quatu Classic is an event that differs from all the others of its kind, claiming a different and more light-hearted way of celebrating the automobile. However, all the fancy atmosphere surrounded by a glamorous Dolce Vita taste takes anything away from both the historical value of the models competing, and the rigour of the judging. The cars seen this year reaffirm the leading role of an event  that has now become relevant in the historic motoring international calendar”.
