Our member, Mille Miglia Museum in Brescia in collaboration with Lopresto, set up an exhibition last summer dedicated to the restoration and conservation of automotive heritage, illustrating through four unique cars different situations in which a historic car can be found.

The exhibition started with a discovery, the Fiat 1500 Cabriolet of 1939, whose rusty bodywork shows the signs of time with a very special charm, passing to the Lancia Augusta Coupé of 1935, a completely original car, preserved with exceptional care.

The exhibition continued with one of the most important cars of the Lopresto Collection, the Alfa Romeo Giulietta SZ restored with a conservative approach on only half of the bodywork and awarded by FIVA and UNESCO in 2016 precisely for the innovative techniques used. In conclusion, the prototype of the Alfa Romeo Montreal is an example of a car completely restored to bring it back to its original condition, with the repainting of the bodywork and the reconstruction of the interior.

Lopresto has been a point of reference for years for the philological approach to restoration, experimenting with new techniques and unconventional approaches to this complex and always different material depending on the car on which you work. With this exhibition, they wanted to summarize the variety of situations and conditions that can be encountered in this world, each with its own peculiarities and specificities.
