New global collaboration to protect historic vehicles and industrial heritage

Two leading global organisations are joining forces to better safeguard and promote the future of the world’s historic vehicles and industrial heritage. FIVA (the Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens or international federation of historic vehicles) and TICCIH (the International Committee for the Conservation of the Industrial Heritage) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding which will lead to them working closely to promote their shared objectives to a wider audience. February 1 was a very sad one for the FIVA family. That day we lost two eminent protagonists.  In Paris  Michel de Thomasson, FIVA President from 2001 to 2007, passed away, in Turin Alfieri Maserati, a long-time FIVA Commission member. 16 November 1900 – 5 January 1994 Elisabeth Junek (née Pospíšilová), the most successful and famous lady racing driver of the Twenties, was born on 16 November 1900 in Olomouc, in what is now the Czech Republic. In 1920, she and her brother Stanislav spent time in France, where Elisabeth drove a car for the first time. In 1922, she returned to Prague and in June that year married Čeněk Junek.
