The prestigious FIVA – TICCIH Automotive Industrial Heritage Recognition Award, aimed at celebrating and preserving the legacy of automotive industrial heritage, has been bestowed upon Motorworld. Motorworld has been honoured as the first-ever recipient of the award.
The FIVA – TICCIH Automotive Industrial Heritage Recognition Award stems from the partnership between two esteemed international organizations, FIVA and TICCIH. This collaboration, solidified by a memorable MoU signing ceremony in Paris in 2022, lays the groundwork for acknowledging excellence in the conservation of industrial heritage. It symbolizes the steadfast dedication to safeguarding historic sites, essential connections to our cultural legacy, and drivers of societal progress. By preserving invaluable lessons from the past, this award aims to inspire future generations to embrace innovation and excellence.
Motorworld Group, a dynamic network of locations and venues dedicated to all facets of motoring culture, has been recognized for its remarkable contributions. With a focus on celebrating automotive history, innovation, and lifestyle, Germany based Motorworld provides a vibrant platform for exhibitions, events, and gatherings, catering to enthusiasts and newcomers alike – in German cities like Munich, Cologne, Stuttgart and Berlin as well as in Switzerland (region Zurich) and soon also in Luxembourg and Spain (Mallorca). A Motorworld centre in Bulgaria’s capital Sofia is planned as well. At free entry for everyone, 365 days a year.
One of Motorworld's distinguishing features lies in its commitment to preserving architectural heritage. Through the innovative repurposing of industrial sites and buildings, Motorworld seamlessly blends historical charm with modern functionality. These transformed spaces, often former factories or warehouses with great historical significance, retain their industrial character while offering visitors a contemporary automotive experience.
By adopting this forward-thinking approach, Motorworld not only breathes new life into these spaces but also pays homage to their historical significance. Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in the automotive world within a setting that reveres the industrial heritage of the past. Furthermore, this strategy champions sustainability by repurposing existing structures rather than embarking on new constructions.
The collaboration between FIVA and TICCIH underscores a shared commitment to the preservation of automotive industrial heritage. Through initiatives like the FIVA – TICCIH Automotive Industrial Heritage Recognition Award, the two organizations aim to ensure that these cherished sites continue to inspire and captivate audiences for generations to come.
